This workshop explores the intersection of artificial intelligence, education technology, and language learning through the lens of large language model (LLM) reasoning and knowledge representation. As AI transforms educational landscapes, there is a critical need to understand how LLMs can enhance learning experiences while addressing fundamental questions about knowledge representation and reasoning in educational contexts. The workshop will focus on three key areas: (1) AI for Education - examining how LLMs can personalize learning, enhance pedagogical approaches, and support diverse educational needs; (2) AI for Language Learning - investigating applications of reasoning-enhanced AI in second language acquisition, multilingual education, and language skill development; and (3) LLM Knowledge and Reasoning - exploring how these systems understand, process, and apply knowledge in educational settings. This interdisciplinary workshop aims to bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI research and practical educational applications, fostering collaboration between AI researchers, educators, and educational technology practitioners to shape the future of intelligent educational systems.
This workshop is affiliated to the International Symposium on Emerging Technologies for Education 2025 (SETE 2025), in conjunction with the International Conference on Web-Based Learning 2025 (ICWL 2025), to be held in Hong Kong, China.
